Texting rules

Texting rules. Stressful. And there are so many of them:
- don't reply asap, this shows you're desperate
- if you get a simple 'lmao' or 'lol' or 'k', this means what you said was not interesting and they're not bothered to reply properly
- if you want to end a convo on ig you like their message
- use 'hm' or 'um' when you're not sure if what you said is offensive
- extend the last word of the sentence by repeating the last letter to sound friendlier (eg. i think sooo)

Okay, some, like the last one, are kinda useful cause you can show your tone through text. BUT things like number 1 is stressful. Like, why? wHy?

AND. People have different texting rules. Sometimes I'm used to texting with one set of rules, then when I talk to someone else, those rules can't be applied. (Or maybe they just don't wanna talk to me lmao) They're friendly but they 'lol' or 'k' in a friendly way(?). That's when I get confused.

Permission

Heya! It's been so long since I've written on here so I don't even think you guys know this but - I'm in uni! Been a long way, hasn't it. I was just reading my old posts and... jeez, I've grown so much mentally (not so much physically lol), and I lowkey miss just blurting out whatever was bothering me or what I have been contemplating about. I also just miss contemplating in general. Now that I'm in uni and have work and a busier social life than secondary school, I have less and less time to pause and just - think.
